Dinamika Literasi Masyarakat Kabupaten Demak: Analisis Tren, Disparitas Gender, dan Laju Pertumbuhan

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis tren perkembangan angka melek huruf di Kabupaten Demak, menilai kesenjangan literasi berbasis gender, dan mengukur laju pertumbuhan literasi pada periode 2021–2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif komparatif berbasis data sekunder dari Badan Pusat Statistik dan menampilkan analisis tren, kesenjangan gender, dan pertumbuhan literasi. Populasi penelitian mencakup penduduk usia ≥15 tahun, dengan unit analisis berupa persentase angka melek huruf total dan berdasarkan gender. Data yang digunakan berbentuk panel tidak seimbang karena ketersediaan data gender terbatas pada periode tertentu. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi dokumentasi terhadap publikasi statistik resmi. Analisis data meliputi: (1) analisis statistik deskriptif (rata-rata dan deviasi standar) untuk mengidentifikasi tren literasi, (2) analisis komparatif menggunakan effect size Cohen’s d untuk mengukur besaran kesenjangan literasi antara laki-laki dan perempuan, serta (3) analisis laju pertumbuhan tahunan (annual growth rate) untuk mengukur dinamika perubahan literasi antarperiode. Pengolahan data dilakukan menggunakan perangkat lunak JASP dan Microsoft Excel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat literasi masyarakat tergolong tinggi namun mengalami fluktuasi tahunan, terdapat kesenjangan literasi yang nyata antara laki-laki dan perempuan, serta pertumbuhan literasi perempuan lebih cepat dibanding laki-laki, menandakan potensi penyetaraan literasi di masa depan. Penelitian ini memiliki keterbatasan karena hanya menggunakan data sekunder, sehingga belum dapat mengidentifikasi faktor sosial-ekonomi, budaya, dan motivasi belajar pada tingkat individu atau rumah tangga. Oleh karena itu, penelitian selanjutnya disarankan mengintegrasikan data primer melalui survei, wawancara, atau studi lapangan untuk menghasilkan pemahaman yang lebih komprehensif dan rekomendasi kebijakan yang lebih tepat sasaran. Temuan penelitian ini menegaskan perlunya intervensi literasi berbasis komunitas yang melibatkan pemerintah daerah untuk penguatan kebijakan, sekolah dan perpustakaan sebagai penyedia sumber belajar, serta masyarakat untuk meningkatkan budaya membaca. Khususnya, pemberdayaan literasi perempuan melalui program pendidikan setara dan monitoring berbasis data dapat mempercepat penyetaraan literasi dan meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia secara berkelanjutan.
